As a rule, slide grinding is a watery process, which means that workpieces have to be dried following processing. Apart from hot-air drying, this process can also be performed with drying media such as corn cobs or ground walnut shells.
Ground corn cob is a purely natural product. It is obtained by grinding, sieving and dedusting corn cobs (degrained corn cobs). The granulate is available in various sizes. The grain size to be selected essentially depends on the geometry of the workpiece to be dried.
Ground walnut, as is the case with ground corn cob, is a purely natural product, which is composed of ground and sieved walnut shells. In comparison to ground corn cob, this granulate is less absorbent, but the risk of dust formation on the workpiece surface is reduced.
