Within my apprenticeship at SPALECK Oberflächentechnik I got the chance to work 4 weeks at our longterm customer, the South African Mint in Pretora.
During this time I was able to get to know the different manufactring steps of coins and became acquainted with the working and social life in another culture.I had also the possibility to visit different departments of th production and i learne every step to get a minted coin. For me personally it was particularly interesting to see our machines as a part of a hole System and now I know what is happening and necessary before and after polishing.
Next to the working days I was able to experience South Africa. All my colleagues were very open-minded, warm-hearted and hopitable so it was very nice to spend my weekends with them: I went to a gospel church with one colleague and did a Safari and sight-seeing-tour in Johanesburg with another. The highlight of my trip was a domestic flight to Cape town - an amazing city.
For all that I can really say that I had a wonderful time in South Africa and I am happy about all the experinces I made.

As a part of my education at SPALECK Oberflächentechnik GmbH & Co. KG I got the chance to work 4 weeks at our longterm customer Casa de Moneda de Mexico, a company of the government which produces coins.
During this month I had the opportunity to get a look into every department. From the delivery of the raw material up to the finished coins I saw every step of the production. A very important part of the production is the polishing of the blanks in our SPALECK centrifugal finishing Systems.
My activities in the commercial departments like sales, purchasing, human resources and my visit to a related branch office at Mexico City were very impressing.
In the evenings and at the weekends I went out with my colleagues to experience the city.
I had a wonderful great time in Mexico thanks the warm and hearty People with which I stand still in contact, especially their hospitality was unexpected amazing and the bet for me.
